Girl, you make me feel like I'm walking into danger
The first day of camp always seemed like the best or worse day of your life. For Carter is was really none of the above. She'd been attending Camp Soleil for three years now and she didn't really think anything of it. The wind blew lightly over the somewhat empty camp. No campers had arrived yet, all there were around were the Councilors waiting impatiently for the campers to arrived. Carter's mother pulled up the dirt road to the camp, giving her only daughter a small speach that she gave her every year. Carter just sat in the passanger seat not listening to her mother.
When the two of them arrived, Carter nodded towards her mother and climbed out of the car. She pulled her bags out of the trunk and waved goodbye to her mother as she drove away. Carter didn't know why she let her mother drive her anymore. She had her G2 and could drive up to the camp on her own. Sighing, Carter lugged her bags into her cabin and threw them atop her bed. Carter was happy that she was the first to arrive at camp. This meant that she had first dibbs on the bed she wanted in her cabin which was pretty awesome.
Carter sat on the bed for a couple minutes before she got up and walked outside the cabin. She looked around the camp for a couple minutes on the porch of the cabin. She tried to think of somewhere she could go to wait 'till the opening ceremony of the camp once all of the campers arrived. Then it hit her. The practice cabin. Smiling widely to herself, Carter ran back into the cabin and grabbed her song book out of her bag and ran quickly to the practice cabin.
Once she arrived at the cabin she slowly walked inside, and spotted the somewhat dusty piano in the middle of the room. With a smirk on her face, Carter walked towards the piano and sat down dusting the seat as she did, then the ivory piano keys. Carter was a singer. Thats what she came to camp for anyway, but she also loved to dance, write, and play a few instruments. Carter was a multi-talented girl and she loved it. There weren't many campers at Camp Soleil who were like her. None that she knew of anyway, and none in her year. She was quite proud of herself for that.
Carter pulled her song book out of her pocket and set it on the stand attached to the piano. She flipped to one of her favorite songs that she had written and started to play.
Desde muy niña siempre actué
Con timidez
Con el miedo de decir
Todo de una vez
Tengo un sueño en mí
Que brillando está
Lo dejaré salir
Por fin tú sabrás
Lo que soy, es real
Soy exactamente la que debo ser hoy
Deja que la luz, brille en mí
Ahora sí, sé quién soy
No hay manera de ocultar
Lo que siempre he querido ser
Lo que soy
Sabes lo que es estar
En esta oscuridad
Con un sueño de alcanzar
Ser estrella y brillar
Si parece estar
Tan lejos hoy de aquí
Tengo que creer
En mí
Solo así sabré
Lo que soy, es real
Soy exactamente la que debo ser hoy
Deja que la luz, brille en mí
Ahora sí, sé quién soy
No hay manera de ocultar
Lo que siempre he querido ser
Lo que soy
Lo que soy
Eres esa voz que habita en mí
Por eso estoy cantando
Quiero encontrarte
Voy a encontrarte
Eres lo que falta en mi
Canción dentro de mí
Quiero encontrarte
Voy a encontrarte
Lo que soy, es real
Soy exactamente la que debo ser hoy
Deja que la luz, brille en mí
No hay manera de ocultar
Lo que siempre he querido ser
Lo que soy
Lo que soy
Ahora sí, sé quién soy
No hay manera de ocultar
Lo que siempre he querido ser
Lo que soy
Finishing the song, Carter sighed. She knew who she was, but she was never one who was able to show it. Before arriving at Camp Soleil, Carter had always been a shy and shut in girl. She didn't know what others would think of her songs, or her singing, but after her first year, Carter started to open up as people liked her music and her in general. She made friends that she didn't have before back in Mexico and was glad that she had moved and that she had gotten the letter that she recieved.
